RULES AND REGULATIONS
MIDDLE SCHOOL- ALL STUDENTS MUST BE A MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT.
NOVICE DIVISION - ALL STUDENTS INVOLVED MUST BE AN AVTF 1 STUDENT .
ADVANCED DIVISION- ANY FILM CONTAINING A STUDENT WHO IS IN AVTF 2-4.
LIMIT: 3 NOVICE SUBMISSIONS/ 3 ADVANCED SUBMISSIONS PER SCHOOL
1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
Slating: Slating is for Judges identification and contain the following:
All footage must be original and shot during the 2 weeks of competition. You may not use video clips from projects already completed for another purpose or stock footage. No bloopers or out-takes allowed.

1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Each team can have up to 10 members with half being currently enrolled in video production courses.
- Adults/younger children can be used on camera as actors. They will not be eligible for acting awards.
- Non-speaking extras can be used (not part of the 10)
- Film must contain a) Character Name, b) Prop, c) Line (released by host school on April 11 8:00AM)
- Designated contest prop must be interacted with or used in some way, not just part of the background.
- Each team will pick their Genre: Comedy, Drama, or Suspense.
- You have until April 22, 2022 at 11:59 pm to plan, shoot, edit, and submit film. Films must submitted by teacher using provided link.
- Movie must be five minutes (05:00:00) or less.
Slating: Slating is for Judges identification and contain the following:
- Five second of black
- Then white title on the black background
- Slates must state: Film Title, Team Name, Genre, and Category (Middle, Novice or Advanced)
- closing credits must be 10 seconds or less and do not count as part of film time.
- Should include all crew, actors, and music licenses.

5. AUDIO/MUSIC
- All music must be copyright free.
- The teacher must preview all films prior to submission to verify all rules have been followed. If any rule is broken or requirements not met, the home teacher must disqualify the entry prior to submission to the contest.
- The teacher may not write, shoot, edit, or assist in entries.
Absolutely NO:
- Real or look-alike tobacco, drugs, alcohol or weapons can not be used.
- When possible, any violence should be insinuated, not seen. Younger children will likely attend the Award’s Night, so be careful to not offend for the sake of offending
- Profanity spoken, mouthed and bleeped or inferred.
- Blatant Sexuality: (such as couples lying down or in bed, showing too much flesh, or adopting an attitude of a particular sexual preference.)
- The name of your school cannot be visible anywhere in your movie; not on shirts or walls.
8. AWARDS NIGHT
- Only the top entries will be shown the night of awards, determined based on the total entries and will be at the discretion of the host school. (Goal = 8 Advanced/ 5 Novice Films)
- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded for each winning video within its division (Middle School, Novice, Advanced).
- Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Character awards will be given in each division.
